So today I decided to install the 1903 update.

Since updating my audio has stopped working. I've suffered this before in the past but this time I've been unable to get it working again.

I have speakers and headphones that both plug into AUX ports on the front and back of my PC.

It seems like only one is being detected at a time whereas before the update I could use both and I'd just switch between them, or use both at once, using Voicemeeter Banana.

    So far I have tried:

    • uninstalling and reinstalling Voicemeeter Banana (with restart)
    • uninstalling and reinstalling Virtual Audio Cable (with restart)
    • uninstalling and reinstalling RealTek Audio (with restart)

No Audio devices detected after update (Win 10 Pro - build 1903)

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I appreciate the efforts you have taken in trying to resolve the issue. I understand that after updating to Windows 10 1903 build, no audio devices are detected on the computer. We would like to know the make and model of the computer that you are
    using currently.

As per the error message, Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39),
we will need to uninstall the drivers and manually reinstall the driver. For more information, see

Error codes in Device Manager in Windows

However, as you have already tried reinstalling the drivers from Realtek and Intel, one thing I can suggest you is to try installing the drivers from the computer manufacturer’s website.

If you are using any antivirus software, you may want to disable the antivirus temporarily.

Note: If you disable the security software or firewall, the system might be temporarily exposed to security threats and risks. Please make sure to turn it on after performing the steps.

We can try to use an alternate audio driver and see if that helps. Refer the steps mentioned below:

    1. Press Windows Logo key + X, and select
      Device Manager.
    2. Expand Sound, Video, and Game Controllers.
    3. Right click on Realtek Audio and select
      Update Driver.
    4. Select Browse my computer for Driver Software.
    5. In the next screen, select Let me pick from a list of available drivers.
    6. Check the box Show Compatible Hardware and select
      High Definition Audio Device.
    7. Click on Yes if you get any prompt.
If you do not see any change, you can use Update Driver option and Search automatically to revert to Realtek driver.

Let us know the results, we will be glad to help you further.

    Regards,

  4. Audio issues after 1903 update. Seems like both AUX devices aren't being detected at once.

    Audio device issue

    Hi Venu,

Incompatible audio device drivers are known to operate against the method that Windows 10 follows. First, uninstall the audio driver, then follow these steps to resolve the issue:

    • Right-click on the name of your PC at the top of the list of devices in
      Device Manager
      .
    • Select Scan for hardware changes to reinstall the device driver, or download and install the latest version from the manufacturer’s website.

Let us know how it goes.
