Audio Issues in Windows 10 - Longstanding

I have two super annoying issues that are driving me insane. They have been like this for as long as I can recall, but I finally have a few minutes to try and sort it.

    1) Everytime I reboot, my one of my monitors becomes my audio device. I have changed the default to my STX card so many times, it won't stay put! My monitors don't even have speakers?
    2) Changing audio device sometimes causes my sound to stop working altogether, and it seems linked to an issue whereby, from that point onward, till a reboot, all my videos play super quick like they are on fast forward. I have never found a solution that didn't involve a reboot.

    I am on Windows 10 2004.

    Help!

    :)
