    Audio issues

    Laptop: Dell Inspiron 15 5577

Situation: The other day I was trying to game. I turned on my laptop and plugged in my headphones and instead of bringing up the Waves Maxxaudio "Which device" box to let me choose my device, it just... didn't. I looked in the application and the checkbox that activates that box was checked. I checked the sound settings and nothing was changed. At this point I thought it was a fluke and continued onto discord. Come to find out, it wasn't using the microphone on my headphonesI checked and made sure it wasn't an issue with that pair but using the laptop microphone instead. I then thought maybe the computer went dumb and updated the driver. The audio in the sounds tab used to be "Speaker/Headphones". That update separated the two and I didn't like it, specifically because it was reading my headphones as audio only instead of having a microphone. Since then I have went onto the dell website and installed the latest Realtek driver for my device. The problem I've ran into now is instead of saying "Speakers/HeadphonesRealtek High Definition Audio" it says "Speaker/HeadphonesRealtek Audio" because that's what the audio driver is labeled. I assume this is an issue and want to install the right drivers to get it back to what it was but I don't want to install the wrong drivers. I also have a theory that the headphone jack itself may not be reading the sleeve of the TRRS jack. It is a combo jack.

Probably important side note: I may have deleted some audio, possibly Realtek, driversThey didn't have any updates and didn't let me rollback expecting that I would be able to reinstall them.

    In summary:

    Problems:

-PC not acknowledging my headphones TRRS sleeve

-"Realtek Audio" instead of "Realtek High Definition Audio"

-Waves Maxxaudio "Which device" box not showing up when plugging in a device

    Solutions I need

-Get all the default drivers I had when at the beginning of this computers life

-Determine if it is a headphone jack issue and the correct steps to fix it.

-Waves Maxxaudio "Which device" box to come back

Thanks so much to anyone that can help me,

    Jesse

    :)
