  2. 0x8889000f USB Audio Codec Shows Up But Can't Be Used (Audio Device Not Found)

This is not a question but every thread on this subject neglected to address this issue and the threads are locked. Hoping this helps someone else.

Kept getting error 0x8889000f when switching to USB Audio Codec (Behringer USB Audio Interface). Would work when system reboots then would disconnect again. The problem started with newest Windows Update. Went in to Sound Devices to test and kept receiving prompt saying "This device is currently being used by another application."

Windows automatically changed USB Audio Codec to a communication device and set it as default in the system. This is why it would work for a short time then become unusable. To solve the problem I had to go into the USB Audio Codec's properties and remove compatibility mode. Then I set USB Audio Codec to system default and immediately set default back to my monitor. The phone icon next to USB Audio Codec disappeared and I then rebooted my PC.

So far everything is now working as it was pre-update.

    Audio stuttering after wake

    Hi, ShimmyW

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

Knowing that you have problems with your audio after waking up from sleep, you can try the following suggestions:

    1. Check for Hardware Conflicts:

    • Open Device Manager.
    • Expand the “System devices” category.
    • Look for any devices with yellow exclamation marks or error messages.
    • If you find any conflicts, try disabling or uninstalling the conflicting devices.
    2. Test with External Audio Device:

    • Connect an external audio device, such as headphones or speakers, to the computer.
    • If the audio stuttering persists, it suggests a problem with the Realtek audio device or its drivers.
    3. Disable Audio Enhancements:

    • Go to Control Panel > Sound.
    • Select the Realtek audio device as the playback device.
    • Click on the “Properties” button.
    • Go to the “Enhancements” tab.
    • Uncheck all the enhancement options.

If the above steps do not resolve the issue, contact Gigabyte support for further assistance. They may be able to provide additional troubleshooting steps or replace the audio device if necessary.

    Best Regards
