  1. Audio output on laptop keeps changing.

I just bought this new laptop at Walmart and when I connect an external display via HDMI the sound will play for about 2 seconds out of the TV, and then switch back to the laptop. I've tried updating the drivers, and I've tried disabling onboard sound, but then the sound plays for 2 seconds on the TV, and then just goes silent. It's an HP 14-dk1022 if that helps.

  3. No Audio Output Device is Installed

    Hi,

You will need to select Windows 8 from the drop down list while installing the driver in compatibility mode.

I would suggest you to try setting the speaker as default audio output by following the steps below and check if it helps.

    1. Right click on the sound icon on the right bottom corner of the taskbar.

    2. Select "playback devices".

    3. If "speaker" is not set as the default device, highlight it and click "set as default".

    5. Save the changes.

    Let us know the result.
