    Audio output problems experienced when using video conferencing apps


    Whenever I open google meet or zoom, my desktop audio becomes very poor, and faded. I am hardly able to hear from my speaker or headphones. whether its meet itself, or other apps in parallel, like YouTube, etc. btw, my audio output devices work completely fine when these video-conferencing apps are not open and my PC is powerful enough to handle any kind of multi-tasking

    Select sound for video conferencing with Windows 10

    Hi Polly,

    This is Wil, one of the independent advisor, an expert with Windows 10 and a fellow Windows 10 user like you. I understand your concern about sound for video conferencing.

    Digital Outputs refer to high definition digital audio devices, which do not use regular (analog) cables to connect to computers. For example, a TV with an HDMI connection, or a high definition audio system, like a home theater system.

    If your computer only uses a speaker, you should not select Digital Output. If you are having a problem with no sound on video conferencing, may I ask what application are you using for the video conference? Check as well if that particular application is muted
    on the volume mixer. Open the video conferencing app that you are using where you are having a sound issue. Right-click on the sound icon on the system tray (bottom-right part beside date and time) and choose volume mixer. Make sure that all sounds for all
    applications are not muted.

    What about microphone? My audio output is ok, but I have no microphone to work with video conferencing. Can you help?

    Select sound for video conferencing with Windows 10

    Hello I want to enable sound for video conferencing. Besides my monitor, the playback devices are Speakers (which is selected) and Digital Output (ready). Can I assume that if I select Digital Output, then that will solve my problems? If so, how do
    I select this, and then how do I turn it off and reselect Speakers?
