  1. Audio outputs on my realtek sound chip are now reduced to digital only, no analogue devices...

I 've got an MSI MPG-X570 Gaming Pro Carbon Wifi motherboard.

I've had a persistent issue where the sound is happily 5.1 when playing video files/ music, but anything browser-based is stereo (or at least, Netflix, Amazon and Youtube are).

After trying a few things, I read about Alan Finotty's drivers which appear to fix this issue - so I went off and downloaded/ installed them. After that, the analogue devices associated with the chipset disappeared.

So - I uninstalled the AAF drivers, then I installed the latest drivers for the realtek chipset from the MSI website - version 6.0.9088.1 - no change.

The Realtek sound manager runs, but it only recognises the digital output. It's as if there's no analogue option at all. Even with just the basic MS drivers running, it still doesn't list any analogue inputs/ outputs in Manage Sound Devices. My oculus, logitech and other devices that have sound components still all list.

I've updated the BIOS too - no banana. I can push sound through the TV via my graphics card, but that's it. I've run DriverStoreExplorer to make sure every trace of each version of the driver is installed, but no banana.

I can run the Realtek HDA driver test utility, but although it runs I have very little idea of what I'm looking at!

Windows itself (20H2) is patched up to date - but the Event Logs don't show any 'error loading X' type faults.

Any ideas gratefully received, before I set the damn thing on fire.

No sound output device on Windows 10 with analogue speakers

    Hello,

I have a HP Envy desktop running Windows 10, version 2004. The desktop has analogue surround sound outputs connected to a surround sound system (Creative Inspire T6300).

The sound system was working perfectly (until a recent Windows update?) but now there is no sound at all. There is no longer any output device listed in the output device sound settings. I have double checked that the surround system is still properly plugged
in and powered. The volume control is still illuminated when on and I hear a faint click as the system is switched on and off as normal.

The Device Manager lists a "High Definition Audio Device" and the Webcam. I have tried to update the driver but to no avail. The Troubleshooter offers me only options to troubleshoot the NVIDIA outputs on the HDMI connector which is no help.

This has me really baffled - I would really appreciate any ideas or assistance!

  3. Realtek Digital Output not connected

Helloguys my Realtek Digital Output says it's not connected, I'm getting audio however I think this is the case to me not being able to get audio from Steam Apps. I'm on Windows 10 also. I'm also on a Laptop.

    The things I have tried

    • Update my Drivers
    • Go to Win+R and type in "shutdown -r -t 0"

    audio analogue to digital

Hi Derek, can you please explain your question in a bit more detail . . .

Do you want to conver analogue audio to digital and if so, what type of medium (Tape, LP . . . etc.) is the original audio on?
