Audio playback via "Speakers Reaktek R Audio" plugged in jack causing issues.

Hi, I'm in need of some support as choosing the audio playback of ANY plug-in speakers from the 3.5 MM jack causes all youtube videos to play slowly including some games; no audio is output either. Bluetooth and audio from HDMI have the computer run completely fine; this only happens when I have the audio playback set for the 3.5 mm jack. I tried multiple plug in audio devices

    :)

Rear audio jack doesn't detect speakers, but will play sound through them if something is plugged into the front audio jack

Until today, I've been using a pair of active speakers with my PC. They've been plugged into the rear audio jack, and there's been no issue.

Today, I set-up my new pair of passive speakers (i.e. the speakers are now connected through an external amp), and plugged them into the rear audio jack. However, my system didn't recognise that any speakers were plugged in, and no sound was being produced.

So I tried plugging my old speakers back into the rear audio jack. Again, nothing detected by the system, and no sound produced.

However, here's where it gets really confusing.

If I plug the new speakers into the rear audio jack and plug the old speakers into the front audio jack, then the system will think I've connected headphones to the front jack and will play music out of the new speakers.

And if I plug the old speakers into rear and new into front, again the system thinks headphones have been connected, but will play sound out of the new speakers.

So, in short, my rear audio jack isn't detecting anything, but if I plug speakers into both the front and back audio jacks, sound plays out of the new speakers, regardless of where they're connected.

I'm using the onboard Realtek Audio Control, and have successfully updated it to the latest drivers to no benefit. I've also tried many combination of the settings in Realtek Audio Control, but it's still not detecting anything when plugged into the rear
    audio jack.

The motherboard is a ASUS Prime Z370-P, and the OS is Windows 10.

  3. Headphones Cause Video and Audio Playback to Stop

I performed all of the steps suggested, but still no audio when any change is made in the audio source related to the output jack -

if it's changed at all from system speaker to external speaker or to headphones, audio will stop unless the computer is restarted.

Audio playback via "Speakers Reaktek R Audio" plugged in jack causing issues.

New PC build audio not working through jacks (not plugged in)

My newly built PC does not output audio from any of the tower jacks. I have to plug speakers into my monitor which are connected by HDMI in order to get any playback devices recognised. This is an issue as i cannot use headsets including using a mic. I have tried nearly everything such as showing disconnected and disabled devices, and also installed all sound drivers such as realtek and also NVIDIA high definition audio for my graphics card. I have also opened up my case to see that the cables for audio are plugged into the motherboard correctly.

My playback devices menu shows my monitor as the only source of audio. while any other speakers or headsets i try to plug in are not recognised. Has anyone had an issue this unsolvable before? Should I just take it into a computer store and pay to get this fixed, as i'm starting to doubt that it is a simple fix.
