Windows 10: Audio plays nothing but weird static

I recently built a new pc. After completing I ran into the issue of not being able to connect to the internet. I fixed this by installing Windows 10 off of a flash driver which I then upgraded to windows 11. Now is my current issue which is my audio. When my headset is plugged in it plays this awful noise that sounds like a dying mouse. It does this while no audio is playing as well ex- on home screen with nothing running. Something I noticed was that the volume slider in settings had no effect on the noise. I have already tried reinstalling the audio device in device manager, updating my dr

So this is a weird one so i was on vacation for a week away from my PC which was working fine I took my headset with me and used it on my phone everything fine

until I got back and plugged my headset back in my pc and now i hear static and audio crackling and my headset plays audio from the left only when i play a video on youtube or on MPC but when i play a song on windows media player it sorts it self out audio plays fine for a minute on youtube and MPC then it goes bad again until i play something on windows media player anyone know what is going on

I appreciate if you could answer to a few questions to narrow down to the issue.

• Which is the application that you are using to play the files?
• Did you try the same on a different player?
• Did you perform any troubleshooting steps?

As an initial troubleshooting step, I suggest you to check if the volume is set low or in mute state in Volume Mixer.

• Right click on sound icon.
• Open Volume Mixer check for the application that you are playing the files with and increase the volume and check.

If the issue still persists, I would suggest you to run “Playing audio” troubleshooter to diagnose and fix the issue.

Follow these Steps to run Playing Audio Troubleshooter in Windows 10.

1. Type troubleshooting in the search bar.

2. Select Troubleshooting.

3. Select View all on the top left corner.

4. Click on Playing audio.

Audio changes in static noice

When watching a video on the internet(youtube) the audio (speakers) changes into a static noice.

Now it happens all the time. Also when playing game It can happen.

Basically the audio is fine and suddenly it changes into a very loud static noice. My my gut feeling thinks the problem is my PC and not the audio speakers.

also if the the audio changes into static noice my mouse cursor disappear or is unresponsive for half a second. Its fixed when reloading the video or turn the audio on/off. But it can happen again 10 seconds or minutes later.

any ideas?
