    Audio popping and scratching


    Hi all,

    Since building my new PC over 6 months ago, I've had terrible audio problems on any form of media e.g. Twitch, Youtube, TeamSpeak, Discord etc. I've tried most guides online with setting playback rate, trying new cables, different drivers, editing regedit. If it fails, I just do a fresh install of windows. My audio set up is a Schiit Jotunheim 4490K DAC built in so my PC isn't processing the audio, so there must be something else but I am in the dark about this and require help as I am near breaking point. Any other questions and I would gladly answer them and pay even to solve this problem, hope to hear from someone soon, .

    • OS ? (Windows 10, 8.1, 8, 7, Vista) - Windows 10 Home
    • x86 (32bit) or x64 (64bit)? - x64
    • What was original installed OS on system? - Windows 10 Home
    • Is the OS an OEM version (came pre-installed on system) or full retail version (YOU purchased it from retailer)? - Full Retail version to my knowledge
    • Age of system? (hardware) - CPU, RAM, PSU, MOBO Less than 6 months - Rest is 3/4 years old
    • Age of OS installation? - 1 Day old
    • Have you re-installed the OS? - Yes, Multiple times.
    • System Manufacturer? - Varies - PC built by myself.
    • MotherBoard - (if NOT a laptop) - X570 AORUS MASTER (rev. 1.0)
    • CPU - Ryzen 3900XT
    • RAM (brand, EXACT model, what slots are you using?) - G.Skill DIMM 32GB DDR4-3600 Kit Memory F4-3600C18D-32GTZN Trident Z - A2/B2
    • Video Card - NVidia GTX 1080
    • Power Supply - brand & wattage (if laptop, skip this one) - Be Quiet 1200W Straight Power 11
    • Is driver verifier enabled or disabled? - Enabled as far as I am aware
    • What security software are you using? (Firewall, antivirus, antimalware, antispyware, and so forth) - Windows Security
    • Are you using proxy, vpn, ipfilters or similar software? - None

    DPC Latency Scratching & Popping audio - YouTube playback

    For some time now my audio has popped and scratched out a lot during YouTube or video playback. When playing music I have a car subwoofer hooked up to my PC with a splitter and cable. I play some bassy songs around 20-60hz and "Down In The DM - Yo Gotti 26,30,36hz" as tests and hear the issues as well.

    Even with updating to the latest audio driver, or rolling back previous drivers make no difference. Sometimes in the DPC latency app it'll show the DirectX Graphics Kernel thing too.

    Can not record audio.

    Hi,

    We suggest that you run troubleshooting for Audio Recording by following these steps:

    • Type troubleshooting on the search box.
    • Click View all.
    • Select Recording Audio.
    • Follow the steps to troubleshoot Recording Audio.
