Windows 10: Audio problems on fresh install, USB interface possibly unrelated?

I'm getting frequent sound crashes on my desktop. Sound will cut out, Youtube or DAW playback with stop. Generally unplugging my USB interface (MOTU 828 MK2 USB) and plugging it back in fixes it, sometimes I have to restart. Troubleshooter gets me nowhere, but claims I'm using a generic driver. I'm using a driver I got off MOTU's website. It's honestly hard to be sure, but I believe it to be the correct driver. I'm pretty well versed with setting up interfaces.

I was having issues with a previous interface on this build/pc, but it was firewire and I intended to upgrade so I moved on.

I've tried all the common suggestions like power settings, usb sleep settings etc, I've played with different sample rates and settings in the driver.

I'm kinda hoping somebody knows a bit about Windows 10 audio/drivers and can point me in the right direction? Does this sound familiar to anybody? TIA, maybe a DAW sub would be better?

Multichannel audio interface in/out routing

• What is the make and model of your external audio interface?
• Which routing application are you using?

The configurations of inputs and outputs on any audio interface is dependent on the hardware and its supporting software. Any audio interface with more than 2 inputs and 2 outputs, should ideally give the user an option to map the
Input and Output Config, according to his interest.



I suggest you to go through the user manual provided by your audio interface's manufacturer to know how to set up the control surface.



If it doesn't explain how to configure, I suggest you to get in touch with the audio interface's manufacturer to know how to configure the same.

Fresh USB Windows 10 Install - Failing

I am trying to install a fresh copy (reformatted the hard disk) of windows 10 using a USB

• Created an installation media on a USB flash drive (Win 10 pro) from this page Download Windows 10
• Changed the boot order on the other PC so that it boots using USB
• Selected custom install
• Installing Windows goes through the following steps successfully: Copying Windows Files, Getting Files ready for installation, Installing features, Installing updates and before the last step (Finishing up), it restarts
• Then it goes back to the start of the installation steps

I am stuck and have read numerous posts but don't know what to do to install a fresh copy of Win 10.

 

Audacity Error Initializing Audio when I have USB audio interface on


@fireberd. I do have Stereo mix set as recording default. And this was working last week so I don't understand what changed.


@spapakons, I'm not sure I understand what you are suggesting. Could you re-phrase your statements.
