    Audio programs fail after computer returns from screensaver


    This problem has been driving me crazy.

    After my laptop goes to screensaver, the music continues to play, when I enter my pin it will stop and hitting the play button keeps it on zero with no playback.

    It would also happen that if I had an Aux cable connected and pulled it out it would not switch to speakers but if I plugged the same aux cable in the audio would continue.

    It happens with iTunes, and pandora. iTunes i have to close and reopen, pandora i just have to refresh the page.

    I tried uninstalling, itunes, bonjour, and any apple service, and updated my audio drivers. my device manager shows conexant smartaudio hd and high definition audio device.

    and help would be awesome!

    POWER ON OF ITS OWN

    Disconnect the UPS from the computer. If you are using PowerChute from APC, it is not compatible with Windows 10 as I have found out. After I pulled the APC USB plug, my computer screensaver and power functions returned. (my be related to your start up issues?)

    Windows 10 Version 1511 Build 10586.3 caused System Audio to fail

    After installing Windows 10 Version 1511 Build 10586.3 on two completely different computers (laptop & desktop) my
    system audio failed on both computers.

    For example, using Skype, the video both ways is fine but incoming and outgoing audio starts but stops in less than one second.

    Each computer has GoldWave plus two other audio programs that fail exactly as above. Windows Media Player also fails.

    As the drivers are different on the two systems the issue is with the MS upgrade.
