Windows 10: Audio Recordings Now Peaking After Latest Update

I am a voice actor and record in a home studio. I've had no issues with recording until recently. Now everything I record is peaking terribly! I've changed absolutely nothing about my setup - not the microphone, not the mixer, not the software, not the audio drivers, absolutely nothing. The only thing that has happened recently is a Windows update. I've uninstalled the update and the issue is still occurring. I've checked sound settings and nothing looks out of the ordinary. I am so lost here and this is costing me money as I can't work. If anyone is able to help, I would appreciate it.

• Click View all.
• Select Recording Audio.
• Follow the steps to troubleshoot Recording Audio.

Audio Recorder is not working

Method 1: Hardware Troubleshoot

Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with recording. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if the issue is with your recording.

Refer these steps:

• Press Windows key +X, select
  Control panel
• Change the view by option on the top right to
  Large icons
• Click on troubleshooting and click on the
  view all option on the left panel
• Run the Recording Audio troubleshooter

I suggest you to install all the latest audio and Display drivers from the manufacturer web site and install.
