Windows 10: Audio Services not responding all of a sudden

Woke up two days ago to not having the capability to watch youTube videos. Thought it was a YouTube issue until I attempted to play an mp3 file only to find out that it didn't playback and sent me an error message. Troubleshot my audio and tried to test the sound, but my computer failed to hear the test tone. I have reinstalled my audio's driver, have set my laptop's default speakers as the default sound option, have checked the status of the audio driver to find out that it's "working properly," and I'm still not able to hear sound out from my laptop. Do not know what to do.


Wanted to see if there was a problem with my audio in Settings, but I also have an issue with opening it as well. Everytime I head to my settings, I'm only able to get to the main menu, and once I click on a category, the menu freezes and force shuts. I'm frustrated and would like some assistance please.

Hello,

The audio on my computer isn't working. I've run Troubleshooter and this is what comes up:

Audio services not responding Not fixed

One or more audio service isn't running Completed

Both the Windows audio and Windows Audio End Point Builder services

must be running or audio to work correctly. At least one of these services isn't

running.

An outdated audio driver is one of the possible causes why the sound of your device is not working properly.

To troubleshoot your concern, kindly follow these steps:

• Press Windows key + R key together to open Run dialog box. Then type services.msc and hit Enter to open Services window. Locate Windows
  Audio and Windows Audio Endpoint Builder services. Then check if their Status are Running and Startup type is Automatic.

Thanks for the feedback. Let's ensure that your audio services are enabled and running. Please follow these steps:

• In the Cortana search, type in Services.
• Click Services (Desktop app) in the search results.
• Under Services (Local), look for the following:

• Plug and Play
• Windows Audio
• Windows Audio Endpoint Builder

4. Right-click Plug and Play and click Properties.

5. Set the Startup type to Automatic, and Service status should be
Running. If it's not running, click on Start > Apply > OK.

6. Do the same with the Windows Audio and Windows Audio Endpoint Builder.

7. Restart the PC to apply the changes.
