Audio Services, Start Menu, Settings will not work and the PC never resets correctly and fails everytime when i try.I really need urgent help with this as i am at my wits end and cannot find a straight answer to this.A few days ago, i was looking through my files, when for some reason, my images always showed the default stock image instead of the preview of the actual image.When i saw this i tried to go to "Open With" to try to fix it, but when i did, the sub menu was froze on the screen and never when away when i clicked off of it.Suddenly, the files application and Google chrome icon in my

I really need urgent help with this as i am at my wits end and cannot find a straight answer to this.

A few days ago, i was looking through my files, when for some reason, my images always showed the default stock image instead of the preview of the actual image.

When i saw this i tried to go to "Open With" to try to fix it, but when i did, the sub menu was froze on the screen and never when away when i clicked off of it.

Suddenly, the files application and Google chrome icon in my hotbar started flashing and i even saw a few windows of command prompt opening. I paniked and tought i had a virus, so i turned off my computer.

When it came back on, the audio stopped working completely and the icon has a red X on it. Hovering over it makes "The Audio Service is not Running." pop up.

I cant click on the search bar at the bottom so i could'nt check if i even had a virus, and i can't access settings at all.

My brother came in and tried to reset the computer around 3 times now, and each time has failed.

I don't know if my computer is just done for at this point and is just permenatly broken.

I really need help.

You need to go one step further...

Settings >Personalization > Start, then click as shown by the RED square...

 

AUDIO SERVICE NOT WORKING.

In that case, I suggest you follow below.

Step 1:

In the search box on the taskbar, type device manager, then select it from the results.

Step 2:

Select the arrow next to Sound, video and game controllers to expand it.

Step 3:

Look for IDT High Definition Audio CODEC. If it's listed, right-click it and select Update Driver, then select Browse my computer for driver software > Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.

Step 4:

You’ll see a list of pre-installed drivers. Select High Definition Audio Device, and then select Next.

Step 5:

Restart PC

Let me know the results after performing the above.
