Windows 10: Audio simply not working, after trying everything possible.

I just recently got a new mobo, installed all of this drivers, updated audio drivers, reinstalled them, tried different drivers,

Nothing.


When I play audio, my Playback recognizes the sounds and has the level of sound move accordingly, but I am not hearing any of it.


I have tried different headphones, earbuds, you name it


Absolutely nothing.


To clear up confusion, I am using the correct audio jacks on the motherboard IO.


Please help me out.

Rear audio jack not working after upgrading to Windows 10

This issue might have occurred due to corrupted/ outdated audio drivers on your device.

Do let us know the make and model of your HP computer?

Try the below troubleshooting steps and check if it helps.

Step 1: I suggest you to run Hardware and Devices troubleshooter.

Hardware and Devices troubleshooter checks for common problems and makes sure that any new device or hardware connected to your PC is installed correctly.

• Press Windows key from the keyboard, type
  Troubleshooting and select it.
• Click on view all option on the upper left corner of
  Troubleshooting window.
• Select the Hardware and Device options from the list.
  
• Click Next to run the Hardware and Device
  Troubleshooter.

Step 2: I suggest you to update the audio drivers for your device.

Steps:

• Press Windows + X, select
  Device Manager.
• Expand Audio inputs and outputs, right click on
  Speakers/ Headphones and click on Update driver software.

Step 3: I suggest you to install all the pending updates after upgrading to Windows 10.

• Connect to the internet.
• Press Windows key and type
  updates.
• Click on Check for updates.
• Under Windows Updates, click on
  Check for updates.
• Try to install the updates being shown.

Audio is not working

Sometimes this takes multiple steps to try to resolve issues as we are troubleshooting to try to narrow down the list of possible issues.

What is the make and model of your computer? It could be that the latest audio driver needs to be downloaded and installed for your machine. Possibly the driver got corrupt or uninstalled.

Also, what type of audio device are you trying to use? Is it a USB speaker or headset? Is it a 3.5mm audio jack, Bluetooth, something else?

Does the device you want to use appear in the drop down list in the settings page?

 

Audio not working after recent upgrade to Windows 10

Thank you for the detailed description of your issue and for sharing the troubleshooting steps that you've performed. Since the audio on your computer has stopped working, there's a possibility that the volume mixer may have been turned off or muted. The
current audio driver may also be the problem that's why it's not working.

For us to isolate this issue further, please check the Volume Mixer and see if it's muted. Follow these steps:

• Right-click the sound icon in the notification area and click Open Volume Mixer. Normally, the volume is set like this:

2. If the volume on the browser that you are using is set to low, drag the volume control up to your desired level.

3. Once done, try testing the audio again and see if it's working.

If the issue persists, then we suggest that you try rolling back the driver for your audio inputs and outputs. Here's how:

• Open your Device Manager.
• Expand the Audio inputs and outputs category.
• Right-click your audio device and click Properties.
• Click the Driver tab.
• Click Roll Back Driver and follow the on-screen instructions.
