    Audio-technica AT2020USB+ doesn't seem to work with Surface Book and Windows 10


    I just got a Audio-technica AT2020USB+ and I can't seem to get it to work with the system. Windows seems to correctly load the driver and correctly identifies it in the control panel, but the setup apps report that the quality is not adequate. I found a lot of complaints online about the Win10 not working, and that people that upgraded from Win7, where the mic worked, found that it stopped working when they upgraded to Win 8/10. I've made it the default device and tries disabling the built-in mic and have tried connecting both the dock and directly into the laptop with no success.


    I sent an email to Audio-techinca, but have not yet received a replay.


    Has anyone gotten this particular mic to work with the my configuration? If not, could anyone recommend a comparable mic that DOES work?

    Audio not working on Surface book (Code 10)

    I have a surface book and since updating windows the audio does not work. in device manager it says:

    Realtek High Definition Audio(SST)

    The device cannot start (code 10)

    the request is not supported

    when I delete the driver and restart the laptop, it doesn't even recognise try and install drivers. I have to go to 'install legacy hardware' to do that.

    I have been looking for ages and tried a few things:

    • uninstalling sound drivers,
    • reinstalling
    • disabling, enabling
    • installing legacy device, realtek high definition audio
    • download new drivers from realtek website
    • download latest drivers from microsoft surface
    • 2 button shutdown
    • many, many restarts
    • sfc scan
    • restarting windows audio services

    please help!
