  1. Audio via bluetooth cuts out and it's driving me crazy

I use my bluetooth headphones sony wh ch520 for everything, they work great. But since I changed my laptop vivobook 14 I cannot use it unplugged because audio cuts out and I keep wasting time replaying parts of a video. I already tried all of these:*Important note: this is all while unplugged, I am pretty sure it works perfectly when it is charging.- Talking to a MS agent with the troubleshoot chat. Twice. Both of them remotely controlled my system and updated many sound drivers, then told me to reboot. No luck.- Looking for every audio related driver I could find with a Power Management m

  2. Bluetooth Audio Cutting Out (Internal Audio Still Works)

    Hi,

I've been having this issue for several months now and it's really frustrating.

Essentially any Bluetooth audio device I have connected to my laptop (a Dell Inspiron 5480 running Windows 11 Education) will behave as it should for an unspecified length of time and then it will suddenly stop playing audio. It doesn't crackle/stutter, just stops playing. If I look in the sound settings the volume bar moves as it would when there is audio playing. If I change the output device to my internal speakers the audio starts playing again.

If I disconnect then reconnect the Bluetooth device then it usually starts working again, but this is hardly a solution as the problem I describe above once happened 8 times in one hour.

I have followed numerous guides online that have suggested:

    • uninstalling and reinstalling, and updating or repairing Bluetooth and audio drivers (just a lengthy process that has solved nothing)
    • I have restarted the Bluetooth service in Services (services.msc) and made sure it is set to run automatically (did nothing as far as I am aware)
    • I have run the Bluetooth troubleshooter (sometimes works to restart the audio but the problem will inevitably arise again)
    • unpaired then re-paired the audio devices from and to the laptop (problem persists)
    • set Bluetooth as the default audio output device.
One thing I have noticed is audio cuts out when I open a pdf (using Adobe Acrobat), but there are times when the problem happens when I'm not using that program. It has made me wonder if programs are somehow set to block Bluetooth audio for some reason.

If anyone has experienced this issue before, has some sort of insight into what might be the issue, or can suggest something I have not tried I would be very grateful to any advice.

    Thank you in advance!

  3. How to stop audio from cutting out on the drivers end?

    Hi

    Welcome to Microsoft community.

I know you're experiencing audio cutting out on your device. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

    1. Update audio drivers: Ensure that you have the latest audio drivers installed on your device. You can visit the manufacturer's website or the support page for your specific audio device model and download the latest drivers available. Install the updated drivers and see if it resolves the audio cutting out issue.
    2. Check audio cables and connections: If you're using external speakers or headphones, make sure the cables are properly connected to both the audio source and the output device. Try unplugging and re-plugging the cables to ensure a secure connection. If you're using wireless headphones or speakers, check the Bluetooth or wireless connection to ensure it's stable.
    3. Adjust audio settings: Sometimes, certain audio settings can cause interruptions or audio cutouts. Follow these steps to adjust the audio settings on your device:
      • Right-click on the speaker icon in the system tray (bottom right corner of the screen) and select "Playback devices."
      • In the Sound window, select your audio device and click on "Properties."
      • Go to the "Advanced" tab and try changing the default format of the audio. You can experiment with different sample rates and bit depths to see if it improves the audio stability.
    4. Disable audio enhancements: Some audio enhancements or effects can interfere with the audio playback and cause interruptions. To disable audio enhancements, follow these steps:
      • Right-click on the speaker icon in the system tray and select "Playback devices."
      • In the Sound window, select your audio device and click on "Properties."
      • Go to the "Enhancements" tab and check the box that says "Disable all enhancements." Click "OK" to save the changes.
    Best regards
