Windows 10: Authentication call - spam?

My partner just had a call from +1 212220. It said something along the lines of 'thank you for using microsoft verification'. There was then dialling keys on the other side, and the call said 'please press the pound key' or similar. My partner hung up. They then called again so we declined, and our voicemail was the same again, with the dialling. The voice kept repeating that we needed to press the pound key'.Is this just random spam or should we be worried? My partner has a Microsoft email but it shouldn't be linked to his phone for authentication and they don't use anything like that for wor

You need to look at the “View installed Updates” screen to see the list of recently installed updates.

Follow these steps to view installed updates:

  Press “Windows key + X” and click on “Programs and Features”.

How To Create Two Factor Authentication for Remote Desktop

Hello artmanphoto, are you using the built in remote software that comes with windows 10 ?
I too use remote software, so can i suggest you change to one of the following.
Because the remote software that comes with windows is very insecure.

Anydesk
To use 2 step authenticator with anydesk go here

Teamviewer
To use 2 step authenticator with teamviewer go here


Splashtop
To use 2 step authenticator with splashtop go here


Radmin
Does not have 2 step authentication as far as i know.
But it does have IP Filter, very high security.

All 4 have very high security,
Anydesk, Splashtop & teamviewer all have so you can add two factor authentication with google authenticator.
Personally i prefer radmin
