Windows 10: Authenticator completely broken

What is going on with authenticator?? We already have an issue that has gone on for a year where our passwords will NEVER sync between devices, now after an update Windows Hello has completely disappeared and we are forced to login or use keys. Using keys on our other devices fails with error no keys exist despite working the first few times, now we are forced to login EVERY single time and even that does not work. Notifications hardly ever reach our device, when they do 50% of the time they just crash. What is going on please this is severely impacting our work time.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Unable to login to Paypal phone broken

I use an authenticator app on my phone for 2 step verification to login to paypal but my phone is broken so I can no longer get the code. I've tried using the microsoft authenticator app on another device but it's looking for a QR code to scan which I can't access since I can't login to paypal

Paypal tells me they is no way they can turn off the 2 step verification whjich means I cannot ever access my account.

There must be a way around this?

 

How To Create Two Factor Authentication for Remote Desktop

Hello artmanphoto, are you using the built in remote software that comes with windows 10 ?
I too use remote software, so can i suggest you change to one of the following.
Because the remote software that comes with windows is very insecure.

Anydesk
To use 2 step authenticator with anydesk go here

Teamviewer
To use 2 step authenticator with teamviewer go here


Splashtop
To use 2 step authenticator with splashtop go here


Radmin
Does not have 2 step authentication as far as i know.
But it does have IP Filter, very high security.

All 4 have very high security,
Anydesk, Splashtop & teamviewer all have so you can add two factor authentication with google authenticator.
Personally i prefer radmin
