Windows 10: Auto-Fix Software to reset orientation of incoming rotated iPhone photos ??

Quick Question for the Windows 10 Brain Trust about photo orientation.



As most probably know, when an Email arrives with an iPhone photo attached, and it’s click opened with Microsoft office, the photo is very often rotated 90* to the horizontal.



And of course, we can open the photo then click to rotate it properly…but having to do that very often is extra wasted steps & time.



Does anyone happen know if by now...if someone has possibly developed a software add-on to allow vertical orientation to be selected as a default choice for incoming photos to Microsoft Office?

auto screen orientation

Hi Eamonn,

The auto rotation may have been locked that's why the screen orientation doesn't change automatically. To address this problem, we need to make sure that the auto rotation lock is off and that the auto-rotate is enabled. Follow these steps:

• On your tablet, tap the Start menu, then choose Settings.
• Go to System > Display.
• Scroll down and set Lock rotation to Off.

Photo Auto-Rotation

I uploaded photos from my camera memory card for the first time in Windows 10. The orientation of the photo automatically rotated in the folder view but not when opened in Microsoft Picture Manager. I now need to change orientation of each photo to view
properly for editing or deleting - very frustrating and time-consuming. I can understand having a feature for auto-rotation but I have spent over an hour trying to find a solution to turn it off when I do not want it. NOTE TO MICROSOFT - Stop changing things
that you think are helpful but consumers do not or at least make the option easy for us to fix. Every solution I saw offered from Microsoft did not work and typing "auto-rotation" or "rotation lock" in Cortana offers no results.

 

Auto Photo Rotation

W10 Hp 17" Envy Laptop.

Took some photos yesterday on my Panasonic camera, downloaded them via SDHC card but for some reason they are being auto rotated to 90deg from the vertical both in landscape and portrait. This is in viewer and my photo editing programme.

Even when looking at them in explorer when they are the correct orientation when I try to insert them in MS Word they are are at 90degs. In Word it doesn't seem to matter if I have rotated them in viewer or not they still end up 'on their side'.

It's doing my head in.

Can any one help please?
