Windows 10: Auto-Hide Taskbar not reappearing unless I return to the desktop or minimize all windows

I was hoping an update would resolve this by now as it's such a blatantly obvious issue, but ever since I "upgraded" to Windows 11 the auto-hide taskbar functionality has gotten so much worse. It will not appear unless I hit the Windows key on my keyboard so long as ANY application is open in the foreground and the window maximized. If I return to the desktop, minimizing all applications the taskbar will appear once again when I move the mouse to the center or whatever portion of the screen just like I would expect. It also works normally when any app is open but not maximized to cover the ful

Did you try the “Auto-hide the taskbar” option from Taskbar properties?



If you have not tried it, I would suggest you to follow these steps and auto-hide the taskbar:

• Right click on Taskbar.
• Click on Properties
• Check the box Auto-hide the taskbar.
• Click on OK.

This issue might have occurred due to Taskbar settings, try the below and check if it helps.

Steps to enable auto-hide Taskbar:

• Right click in the empty space on the Taskbar, click on
  Properties,
• Under Taskbar tab, check mark the Auto-hide the Taskbar option, click on
  Apply and Ok.

I know how to 'auto-hide'!

IT IS NOT WORKING - the frustrating thing is that this is a known problem and is not being addressed. It may appear to be a small matter but it is not. Wherever the taskbar is situated (top, bottom, either side) it covers part of the screen and is TOTALLY
annoying!!!!!!!

PLEASE FIX IT and help us all.
