Windows 10: Auto login only enters first 5 symbols of usernane

So I've got a little home server which I've setup to automatically login when it restarts however it's not working. It only ever enters the first 5 characters of my username and then it complains because it's not right! I've tried using the "autologon" tool and no change. I've also looked at the user account to see if the username is correct and in the netplwiz window it says the right username but then when i click on properties it only has the first 5 characters! It's becoming a bit of a pain!


Any ideas would be grateful because i can't change my username in the properties window, it won't let me! Thanks in advance!

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.

 

Symbol part of password wouldn't enter correctly on login

I use a symbol as part of my password, as recommended. Today when I tried to login to my personal Windows10 365 account, every time I tried to enter the symbol, I got a different symbol and finally had to reset my password, changing the symbol to a third
one. I have since successfully entered the 'failed' symbol in a document, so it's not an overall problem. I have checked my language and region settings, which are all as they should be and match the keyboard. I have occasionally had the same wrong symbol
turn up and had always assumed I had accidentally pressed it while placing my fingers on the keyboard and was always able to correct the password. In this case, I checked that I was pressing the correct key, using reveal to confirm that the correct key was
producing the wrong symbol, which is on another key (that other key was working correctly).

The computer is a Lenovo all-in-one, about 5 years old, with the original keyboard. The login screen didn't seem to show the icon that would have let me try entering the password through the touch screen instead of the keyboard.

Is this fault likely to recur? Is there anything I can do about it if it does?

 

how to enable auto login in ChrEdge

I'm using the Chrome version of Edge in Win 10 1909. I do NOT login to a Microsoft account and will not sync passwords to online accounts.

In Edge I have "save passwords" and "auto login" turned on, When I manually enter username and password fields, the browser offers to save them (unfortunately only when a password field is present which complicates two screen logins). I save the username (manually entered into the save window) and password.

When I revisit the site to login, no auto login sequence executes. I'm presented with the normal login window(s) for the site and have to manually enter the UID and Passwords.

Must be doing something wrong, but can't figure out what. Searches haven't helped. Any suggestions? Thanks
