Windows 10: Auto Update turned off but didnt stay off, then that 2004 disaster downloaded

Anyone have a solution?


Auto Update was turned off but didnt stay off, then that 2004 thing downloaded and broke my email again.


I had the update shut off via service.msc

but it turned on all by itself.. thank you MS for screwing my day again.


the 2004 update download, and is pending install after restart... just downloaded, i have not restarted yet.

Now, my email is broke again simply because of this download and whatever it did to get the install ready.

I get -the folder does not exist- error msgs now.


I then deleted the folder where the update downloads are but that did not fix my email.



i am using Eudora Pro 7.1.0.9

After being sodomized for several days by the latest thing MS released from pandoras box,

2 days ago I installed an 18xx version of 10 x64 and everything installed and worked smoothly, that is, until this 2004 update download finished about an hour ago. As soon as i got that notice it is ready to install, my mail was broke.


I already left an **** chewing via the feedback hub, yea, that will go no where fast.


Find another email solution you say?
There are none that will import it... 20GB+ and 20+ years worth of backups.


I guess I have to reinstall every few days now to keep my things working.

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.

Microsoft Auto-Updates Components of Windows Without User Permission

The nine files that are updated all have to do with the Auto-Updater itself.
The article lists them all. No big deal.

I run auto-update anyway, so BRING ON THE NEW UPDATES !!!
I have yet to experience any problems from MS updates on my XP network.
