    Registry key setting to disable automatically detect settings in Internet Options window gets cleared after adding in Windows 10 2021 LTSC OS when used in a batch script along with few other reg key commands.REG ADD "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings" /v AutoDetect /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f.But when adding the key manually running the above key works and stays there.

    4. Right Click on Internet Settings and select Permissions.

    5. Ensure that your user profile has full control.

    Method 2: Change the DWORD value in registry

    1. Press Windows + R key to launch Run command.

    2. Type ‘regedit’ and hit enter.

    3. Navigate to this location: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings

    4. Change the value from 0 to 1 for the below registry for these entries.

    “AutoDetect” =dword:0x00000001

    "MigrateProxy"=dword:0x00000001

    "ProxyEnable"=dword:0x00000001

    "ProxyHttp1.1"=dword:0x00000000

    "ProxyServer"=http://server:port

    5. Restart the PC and check.

    Method 3: Run the troubleshooter.

    1. Press Windows + I key to launch Windows Settings.

    Windows could not automatically detect this network’s proxy settings

    @Compumind @Samuria

    Hi - Just so you know, I'm marking this "problem solved". I found this online How to Solve the Windows Could Not Automatically Detect Network Proxy Settings Error. Doing the last step under #2 is what solved the problem. McAvee is still scanning incoming. McAvee & Malwarebytes still show no problems with a full scan. Thanks for your help and suggestions.

    Can't fix "windows could not automatically detect this networks proxy settings"

    Hi Seismicdude,

    Thank you for the detailed description of your problem and for sharing the steps that you've already tried. Getting the error Windows could not automatically detect this network's proxy settings may have something to
    do with the Internet Settings, the TCP/IP settings, or could be caused by the antivirus installed on your computer.

    Disable or uninstall antivirus software

    • Some antivirus software causes issues with proxy in Windows 10. If you have other antivirus software installed on your computer other than Windows Defender that comes with Windows 10, I suggest that you temporarily
      disable or uninstall it for us to isolate the problem. If removing it resolves the issue, then it definitely is causing the problem. You can utilize Windows Defender to protect your computer.

    Change proxy settings

    1. Navigate to Settings > Network & Internet.
    2. In the left pane, click Proxy.
    3. Under Automatic proxy setup, toggle off Automatically detect settings.

    Reset TCP/IP

    1. Right-click Windows key and select
      Command Prompt (Admin)
      .
    2. In the command prompt window, type in
      netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt and press
      Enter.
    3. Restart your computer and see if it works.

    Reset Internet Settings

    1. In Cortana search, type in Internet Options, and select it from the search results.
    2. Click the Advanced tab, then click
      Reset. (Deleting personal settings is optional.)
    3. Click Apply, then
      OK
      .

    If you have additional questions, or if the issue persists after the troubleshooting steps above, please let me know by replying to this thread. This way, I'll get notified and respond back to you as soon as I can.

    Regards.
