Autofill Tags in Windows Explorer Only come from one source

I am wanting to tag JPEG images that are not in the built-in pictures folder, instead, they are on a secondary hard drive built into my laptop. I really like the autofill feature where as I start typing it gives me tags in a dropdown menu that I have used in the past to choose from. However, the only tags that appear are from my pictures folder, not from anywhere else on my computer. How do I get tags from images not in the pictures folder to appear in the autofill box on other pictures not in the pictures folder?

    :)

  2. Clear the 'cache' in file explorer for already used picture tags?

If you set some tags for your *.jpg pictures, the windows 10 file explorer shows them in the "details pane" on the right side.

This list can get very long and with some wrong or no longer used entries.
How can I clear this list / cache / suggestions?

Or how can I stop the file explorer to suggests already used Tags?

Autocomplete Tags in Windows Explorer Incomplete?

    Hi,

I'm currently reorganising several thousand photos, and use the 'tags' feature in Windows Explorer a lot. On my old laptop (Windows 8), I used the autocomplete / tag suggestions, in which previous tags are shown in a drop down list as I type - this saved
a lot of time for me. However, on this computer (Windows 10) it seems to be incomplete - some tags are showing up in the drop down list, but ones I know I've used are not showing up. The missing tags include ones I entered weeks ago, with many restarts since
then. The tags are still present on the files to which they were added and the files do correctly show up in search results when searching for those tags, but I still can't get the tags to show up in the suggestions. I've tried changing settings to allow the
contents of the folder to be indexed, but this hasn't made a difference. I've also tried rebuilding the search index, again this didn't help. I've searched online looking for a solution, but haven't found anyone with this problem.

What should I do in order to get the autocomplete tag suggestions to refresh or update to show the missing tags? Or is there a setting I should change?

    Thank you

how do i turn off autofill in microsoft windows explorer

    Hello Teddy,

You can try to perform these steps on how to turn off autofill. Please follow the steps below:

    1. Press the Windows key + R > type inetcpl.cpl
      > press Enter.
    2. On the Advanced tab > uncheck the Use inline AutoComplete in File Explorer and Run Dialog then click
      OK.

Alternatively, you can also modify the Registry to disable autofill in Windows Explorer:

    1. Press the Windows key + R > type regedit > press
      Enter.
    2. Go to the path: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\AutoComplete
    3. Right-click on Append Complete > then select
String Value from the context menu.
    4. Set the Value data to "No" > click OK.

Important: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these
steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, refer to the following Microsoft Knowledge Base
