    Automatic IPv6 6to4 and ISATAP tunnel adapter addresses generated.


    Having an issue in our environment.

    We have not deployed IPv6 however all windows machines automatically generate an IPv6 6to4 and ISATAP tunnel adapter addresses.These addresses are sometimes registered in DNS and when doing name resolutions for applications, they are returned and connectivity fails.

    Is there a way to prevent these addresses from registering or making it to where the tunnel addresses can actually be used for connectivity between hosts internally without deploying full IPv6 solution?

    Win 10: DNS resolution of remote network via VPN connection not working

    It is also not related to Teredo, 6to4 or isatap. I disabled all three by running:

    netsh interface ipv6 isatap set state disabled

    netsh interface ipv6 6to4 set state disabled

    netsh interface isatap set state disabled

    netsh interface 6to4 set state disabled

    netsh interface teredo set state disabled

    I do have native IPv6 from my ISP and in my (ISP provided) router.

    My company is using IPv4 only.

    missing network protocols windows 10

    i am about halfway through this list but when following a youtube video to fix xbox party chat for the pc i noticed i have some adapters greyed out. would either :

    Microsoft 6to4 adapter

    Microsoft ISATAP adapter #3

    or

    any wan miniport adapters

    be able to cause the issue i am having? both the 6to4 and #3, say they are located on on Microsoft IPv4 IPv6 Transition Adapter Bus, which isnt connected to this pc, but isatap #1 and 2 are also on on Microsoft IPv4 IPv6 Transition Adapter Bus and they
    are working fine?

    edit: i also seen elsewhere that vpn software like some hyperv was causing someone's issue could hamachi and/or tunngle also cause this?
