Windows 10: Automatic Repair Failure | SrtTrail.txt

Recently, I powered on my computer and was greeted by "Preparing Automatic Repair" followed by "Diagnosing Your PC" and then Attempting Repairs. Then a screen says "Automatic Repair couldn't repair your PC" and tells me that there's a log file at E:\WINDOWS\System32\LogFiles\Srt\SrtTrail.txt and I have the option to Shut Down or Advanced Options. I wish I was able to open that log file for more info, but have been unable to thus far.


Following quite a lot of digging and time spent, I've been unable to boot my PC in Safe Mode, have no System Restore points, no System Images, and Startup Repair just brings me back to square 1. I also cannot "Reset my PC" as the process fails around 35% and undoes itself.


Some Command Prompt Tinkering, specifically the BOOTREC /FIXMBR, BOOTREC /FIXBOOT, and BOOTREC /REBUILDBCD hasn't worked either. FIXBOOT returns "Access Denied" despite me being the only user (and thus, administrator) on this PC. REBUILDBCD tells me that there are 0 identified Windows installations.


Following all this, I've created a Windows Boot Device on a thumb drive and have launched my PC from that boot device. Selecting "Repair" brings me back to square 1 yet again, while opting to Install Windows using an Upgrade Install fails as it says it cannot do that on a machine that already has Windows on it. I have yet to try a Custom Install since I'm afraid of doing something incorrectly as that's a bit over my head.


So I'm stuck. Has anyone else had this issue? Any fixes?

srt\srttrail\.txt problem .... but

Hello guys, I have encountered the srt\srttrail\.txt problem but with a slight variant ... I can't access the startup settings ...once I follow the usual path until the part where you press restart so that the menu will appear after rebooting, my computer
boots 'normally' and starts automatically the reparation, without giving me any choice !

I did not recently instal any hardware, but I have logitech wireless mouse, I heard the problem might be about drivers with wrong signatures ..

I need your help guys, and I'm not the only one having this problem ..

Just got the 'old' System\32\Logfiles\srt\srttrail msg and a crashed Win10 laptop that will not auto repair

I know this is not a new problem, but any solution seems random.

Anyone have a list the series of system codes to put in the command prompt?
