Windows 10: Automatic Update Made Photo Editing Not Work Correctly

Microsoft ran an automated update a couple of days ago and now photo editing is not working the way it did previously. I shoot a lot of photos for a local news website and after editing, saved them with new names that help me sort--so, for example, football photos might be F1, f2, etc. After the update, when i edit a photo, it saves only as a copy of the original name (IMG4028, for example, so I get IMG4028(2). Only after I do that, do I get the "save as" option back, which means i either give up my naming convention or have two or more copies of everything.
Any suggestions? The "save as" option does not appear in the first step anymore.

ADDED: It's the software that came bundled with the Windows 10 Edge computer--it's just the Photos app.

Yes, the photo app that came with the Windows 10 Edge laptop--the app doesn't seem to have a name. Just Photo apps. The button marked "save" previously also had the option "save as." It no longer does. Instead, after I save it with the name I don't want, I get the second screen. In the upper right hand corner are a few dos. When I click on that, I get the "save as" option.

To which update are you referring? An update to your Photo app? (Apps are frequently updated in the background). Photos on mine: 2019.19061.18920.0

I see these options to save - is this what you see- no 'Save as'?




If this has changed, you can send feedback to MS via the dropdown from the ...
If so and you need that function consider going to one of the many 3rd party programs downloaded outside the Store that have been around from before Win 10 in many cases - or a different one from the Store.

Being subject to MS's whims isn't always the greatest idea.

Or are you perhaps referring to the latest update for build 1903?

- this seems beset with small problems.

And by the way, which Windows build are you using?
Sadly it's not a forum requirement for users to state this so we have to keep asking...
