  1. Automatic update

For some time now, I've been getting fault messages in Windows update like this

    RICOH - Printer - 10/20/2017 12:00:00 AM - 2.4.0.0 - Error 0x800f020b

This appears to relate to a single update that it has been trying to install for months. This is further complicated by the fact that I don't have a Ricoh printer either in the list of devices attached to the computer or actually. Is there some way to get Windows to stop trying to install this update? This is on Windows 10.

    :)

    Vista Automatic Updating Error

    Resolution Suggestion:

    # To resolve this problem, make sure that BITS and the Automatic Updates service are started..

A simple solution but one that works in most circumstances!

    1. Click Start, click Run, type services.msc, and then click OK.

    2. In the list of services, right-click Automatic Updates, and then click Properties.

    3. In the Startup type list, click Automatic, and then click Apply.

    4. If Service status is set to Stopped, click Start, and then click OK.

    5. Right-click Background Intelligent Transfer Service, and then click Properties.

    6. In the Startup type list, click Manual, and then click Apply.

    7. If Service status is set to Stopped, click Start, and then click OK.
