Windows 10: Automatically hide taskbar - stops working after a while - for no reason

I want the task bar hidden all the time, not blocking out the bottom of my current window. I set it and it works for a while, then stops hiding and blocks he bottom line in my active window. Why and how do I fix?

Did you try the “Auto-hide the taskbar” option from Taskbar properties?



If you have not tried it, I would suggest you to follow these steps and auto-hide the taskbar:

• Right click on Taskbar.
• Click on Properties
• Check the box Auto-hide the taskbar.
• Click on OK.

Automatically Hide taskbar suddenly stops working until reboot


Hi there

a bit of an irritant - anybody else had this and do they know how to fix.

The Automatically hide taskbar / quick launch bar suddenly stops working until next re-boot. No rhyme or reason --just stops randomly.

Video drivers and monitor software all 100% OK.

It's quite annoying. It might be because I have the display set at 150% --it's a LARGE display -- at standard resolution text is MUCH TO TINY to even THINK of reading it even with 20/20 vision.

Happens on both 10240 Insider and the RTM build (2 machines - not VM's).

Why I cant hide my taskbar?

Hi,

You might want to hide the taskbar sometimes, like when you’re watching a movie or doing some reading. You have the flexibility to automatically hide the taskbar based on whether you’re in desktop mode or tablet mode.
Follow these steps to do it:

• Click on Start.
• Open Settings.
• Click on Personalization.
• Select Taskbar tab.
• On the right pane, switch on either or both Automatically hide the taskbar
  in desktop mode and Automatically hide the taskbar
  in tablet mode.
