    AVG Protection (Antivirus) Performance Fixer

    Hello Forum
    Thanks for all the answers.
On my pc there is installed AVG free antivirus, in the middle of the interface is a light blue "Fix Performance" button, I clicked on it to see what it is, then new interfase opened, started a search, in the analisis mainly it found errors in the registry, other items not so important.
Can somebody tell me if this "fixer" is reliable (I tried to right click on any item, it did not give any details about the item),
In win 7 I used "Ccleaner" (which is yet not installed). Attached here two screenshots.
    Answers will be appreciated.
    Thanks

    :)

  2. WINDOWS DEFENDER vs. AVG...or other?

I have used the paid version of AVG antivirus for a few years now, and the time has come for me to renew my subscription. Before doing so, however, I would love to hear an unbiased opinion on AVG antivirus versus Windows Defender. Does Defender provide
me with good to superior protection, equal to - or better than - AVG? Are there any advantages to using Defender over AVG or other antivirus software?

    Thanks for your help!

  3. Win 10 Home ed-- disable URL popups in Mail

    1. If you disable MBAM's realtime protections, does AVG still think that "another antivirus application" is installed?

    2. Does Windows Defender recognize that AVG is installed?

Spam or scam? Even if it's from AVG. Stay away from anything called "Tune Up", "Speed Up". What you're seeing, is what is called "Scareware".

Don't use any such performance fixer. Too often, such gives the user and computer more grief than joy.

  6. TuneUp utilities used to be great, but once AVG bought it, they turned into a destroyer of PCs. *Zip
If you want to "tune up", you can use a free software, like CCleaner, Wise Care 365 or Glary Utilities.

    Hello Friends,
    Thanks for the warnings !
In my previous win 7 I had AVG tuneup 2015 installed and used it for "cleaning and tuning", I'm starting to think this was the reason my win 7 system went 'caput'. several sleepless nights, now with the win 10 system, I ask everything before I do anything.
Now. are "glary utilities 5" and "WiseCare365" free ? after downloading I saw in their sites they have to be licensed.
    Answers will be appreciated.
    Thanks a lot

  10. Yes, they are free. There are some features, which require you to buy a licence, but they are not necessary.

I don't use AVG and haven't in a very long time. I also almost immediately dump anything in my email such as what you've posted. If I haven't subscribed (and I don't subscribe to any AV stuff) or if the sender isn't in my list of contacts, it gets deleted as junk.

Ccleaner is, IMO, the best. I stay away from Glary. Still, these "cleaners" are usually not necessary and only cause problems for the OS. Trying to scare you into using them is insane.

Be careful, cautious, judicious, with Glary Utilities, Wise365Care, jv16 Power Tools, and all other such utilities, such can and more often than not cause more grief than joy.
