Windows 10: Back up and restore

Why does my windows 10 home have windows 7 backup and restore? It's a new machine and it came with windows 10. Does anyone know?

Both links offer some pearls of wisdom.

I had synced my WP8 to my PC several times (and know that the photos and videos are backed up to the PC) but do not recall going through the steps described by Paul Thurrott on the phone). The Microsoft article indicates that the backup to the PC will
happen automatically on PC sync:

When you update your phone using the Zune software or Windows Phone 7 Connector for Mac on your primary computer, we
automatically back up your phone software and settings for safekeeping. If your phone has problems after an update, you can restore it to its pre-update version and state.

I am still awaiting my replacement/new phone.

• I am curious if my previous Sync/s actually created a backup of the settings that I use for a restore?
• I recall that although I had to use Zune previously, the software that did the last few syncs was Windows Phone connector on my PC. I wonder what the steps are to do the restore from this tool?

Anyone with any suggestions/thoughts??

1-An external hard drive (Maxtor III)

2-I used Windows back up and restore utility

3-No 3rd party application and I don't believe I used "File History"
