Back up does not copy Onedrive Documents folder to external hard drive even with local copy...

HiWhy does backup not copy the Onedrive documents folder to my external hard drive? It backs up Favourites, Downloads and other useless folders but will not back up my Onedrive documents folder which has all my important documents in! I have tried adding the folder to backup and deleting it. I have got "Keep a local copy on my PC" activated on my Documents folder so all my files are available locally on my pc white tick in green circle next to each and can select and copy them across to hard drive but backup won't do it for me. Whilst copy and paste does the job, it is a manual process and I

Can't copy files from my local Onedrive folder to external drive...

    Hi there,

When trying to copy files from my local Onedrive folder to an external drive I keep getting this error:

"There is not enough free space on Local Disk. You need an additional 261 GB to copy these files"

Anyone had this problem before? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

  3. Libraries are placed in onedrive folder instead of local folder

    Hi HalSATL,

They're shell folders, which are different from Libraries.

To revert the shell folder locations to default, open OneDrive and do the following:

Important: Before proceeding, copy the files in those special folders to another folder or external drive. Please don’t copy them anywhere under Desktop/Documents/Pictures. This is because disabling OneDrive backup for a folder might erase the local copies of the files. Copying them to a different location beforehand will ensure that you don’t need to download them again from the OneDrive cloud.

    • Right-click the OneDrive icon in the Notification area and click Settings.
    • Select the Backup tab, and click Manage Backup
    • In the Manage folder backup dialog, click on the Stop backup link under the special folder (Desktop, Documents, or Pictures)
    • Click Stop backup in the confirmation dialog that appears.
    • Repeat the step for each shell folder you want to revert to the original location.
