  1. Background items lose color when watching video

For about 3+ months now, whenever I watch a video after some amount of time, background elements lose their color. This happens 100% of the time when not in fullscreen whether I am watching a video on YouTube, Netflix, Twitch, or if I watch a video using the default Windows 10 video player. This issue will sometimes occur when watching a video in fullscreen, too, if a part of the image is mostly static.

I have searched the web, checked the internal settings of my computer and video card but nothing has fixed this. It is the only computer in my household where this is happening and all systems are up to date with latest updates.

I assume that this is intended as a feature rather than a bug, but I find it distracting and want it gone.

I have attached a link to a video of this happening: https://youtu.be/bW3SM8-FyAI

    :)

  2. Default Background color on widescreen video playback

Thanks for the reply but it didn't work for me. It merely changed the application's theme, not the background color of a video playback.

  3. Default Background color on widescreen video playback

    Hi Karlos,

You can change the background color of the Movies & TV app through its settings. To do so, kindly follow these steps:

    • Type movies on the search bar.
    • Click on Movies & TV.
    • On the lower left corner, click on Settings.
    • Under Mode, select Dark.
    • Close the window, then relaunch the app.

Regarding the background color of the online videos that you are watching, it is most likely that it is the default background color that was set by the makers of that website. We recommend that you contact them to know if there's an option to change it.

Let us know if you need further assistance with your concern.
