    I'm new to windows, so most of the errors I get are generally confusing to solve, but this one I can't figure out. The background image I set often becomes obscured by this brown patterned image (screenshot below), which now persists through a shutdown. All my drivers, display, everything is up to date so I'm not exactly sure what the cause of this is. It first occurred when I launched Garry's Mod, then exited to the home page, where the screen started glitching out.

    OS build: 19041.804 for reference

    Background applications

    Hi Robert,

    We understand that you don't want some apps to run on the background of your computer. What we suggest is to
    control which apps are allowed to run in the background. To see which apps have permission, just follow the below steps:

    • Open the Start menu or Start screen and select “Settings.”
    • Click or tap the “Privacy” icon in the Settings.
    • Scroll down to the bottom of the list and select “Background apps.”
    • You’ll see a list of apps that have permission to run in the background with an “On/Off” toggle.
    Just bear in mind that, apps normally run in the background to update their live tiles, download new data, and receive notifications. If you want an app to continue performing these functions, you should allow it to continue running in
    the background.

    Background pattern glitch?

    Weird pattern in background

    So, I have a weird issue with my PC lately. When I boot my PC, my background is not there, but a weird greyish background appears with a pattern in it (see image 1). However, it shows a very small bit in the top left corner of my original background.

    Funny thing is, when I enter the Personalization settings in windows 10, It automatically sets the correct background and I do not have this issue anymore (see image). However, when I start playing a game (does not matter which one) the pattern is back again.

    How do I fix this? This did not happen shortly after a driver update from my AMD GPU. Nevertheless, I did tried to downgrade my driver version. This didn't solve it sadly.
