    Background > Slideshow > "1 day" means 12 hours or 24 hours?


    When in Settings > Personalization > Background : I set the Background to "Slideshow" and then it gives you the option to change the pictures every 30 min. ; every 6 hours and every 1 day.What does "1 day" mean? Is it 12 hours or 24 hours???

    Windows 10. 12 to 24 hours

    Hi Sandra,

    Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

    To change the time format from 12 hour to 24 hour in Windows 10.

    Follow the steps:

    • Navigate to Control panel.
    • In the category view of the control panel, click on the
      ‘Change date, time, or number formats’.
    • Change the short time to HH:mm from the drop down.
    • Press Apply to make the changes.
    • Now your time format will change to 24 hour format.

    Windows 10 desktop background slideshow - ignores my settings

    On Windows 7, I had my desktop wallpaper set to a slideshow that changed every 12 hours. Every day at exactly 8am and 8pm my desktop wallpaper changed to a new picture, from a folder I have with about 20 pictures in it.

    On Windows 10 (clean install, v1803, build 17134) there is no option for every 12 hours. The closest choices are "6 hours" and "1 Day", which I assume means 24 hours. So I chose "1 Day".

    But my desktop wallpaper changes every few hours, at odd times. So far today it has already changed 3 times in less than 16 hours.

    What magical voodoo is needed to get the desktop slideshow to work properly? Is there a registry setting?

    24 hour clock

    Settings > Time & Language > Date & time > Change date and time formats

    The lower case h means a 12-hour format and the upper case H means a 24-hour format.

    Now wasn't that obvious? Uhhh ... no. ;-)
