Windows 10: Background slideshow is not showing every image in the designated folder

Windows is properly updated by the way. Judging by the numerous complaints about this feature dating back to Windows 10, and the lack of an obvious fix, at least one I have been able to find by googling, this needs to be reported as a needed repair. If I have missed the fix, please provide that. To me, the real fix is to reinstate the previous version which worked flawlessly for years. Is that version available? If not, what is the actual fix?

Set background slideshow

I understand your inconvenience. We will assist you with it.

I suggest you to follow the steps provided below to set slide desktop.

• Press Windows logo key + I key.
• Click on Personalization.
• Under Background dropdown menu, select slideshow.
• Click on Browse button and then select the folder from which the desktop slide’s to be applied.

Slideshow background images


I upgraded to 10 from 8.1. In 8.1 I had a slide show desktop background. That carried forward into 10 ( I still have the slideshow background). However, I cannot find where the images are located on the computer. Would like to modify but need to know where they are.

 

Photos from my photo folder are not showing up for personalization of background

Open Start > Settings > Personalization > Background

Click in the Background list box then choose Picture

Click Browse

Navigate to the folder where the images are located, then click choose a picture

Click Choose Picture

You can only choose a picture one at a time.

If you want all the Pictures to be available, you will have to click in the Background list box, choose Slideshow

Click Browse under Choose albums for your slideshow

Navigate to the folder where the images are located, select the folder containing the pictures, then click choose this folder

Your pictures will automatically display in a slide show

You can modify how long each picture is on screen, shuffle, and choose fit.
