  1. backgroundTransferHost start eats bandwidth at windows startup

    Hello
Each time I start my PC runs windows 10, the "backgroundTransferHost" task starts to download something I really don't know is what. It also do it occasionally during my using of PC, for example while I'm playing an online game & suddenly pings gets too high and when I open task manager it shows how that task is eating my bandwidth, then I try to kill task but it starts again!

I tried many methods on the web including:

    1- disabling windows settings sync
2- change windows update settings via policy settings & set it to "notify me on available downloads"
    3- disabling windows update delivery
4- even disabling that task via services can not stop it!

I also updated my windows 10 but still same issue, also couldn't find any useful solution in Microsoft help forums.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

    :)

    Backgroundtransferhost choking my internet connection

    Hey guys,

I've been experiencing this problem on my Windows 10 exterprise edition (64 bit).

Every once in a while, backgroundtransferhost process starts and chokes my bandwidth.

I'm on a 1 megabit connection and it consumes almost all of the width available.

I have to manually end the process everytime from resmon.

Is there a way to prevent this process/service from starting by itself all the time?

Any help will be highly appreciated.

    Thanks and regards.

backgroundTransferHost start eats bandwidth at windows startup

The BackgroundTransferHost is used by Universal Apps to download/upload data in the background or even in connected Standby. It shouldn't run all the time in Background, it runs only when an App is using it.

To identify which app is responsible, download, install and run "Process Explorer" (free, from MS - easy to find).
Look for and expand that process when running.

Make sure you've reversed the changes you've made.

    Hope that helps.
