Windows 10: Backingup to external drive

Hello



I have my AOMEI setup to incrementally backup automatically every week on Thursday 6:30 am

it did so last Thursday . I had to travel for the weekend so I disconnected my WD external HD and placed it in a safe fireproof safe.

when I returned on Sunday eve I reconnected the external drive to my Dell laptop running win 10.



this morning I expected it to again run the incremental backup so I went for a walk and when I returned this is what was on the screen. and this has happened several times in the past. "Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart. we are just collecting some error info and then you can restart

100% complete.

I had to shut computer and restart when I opened AOMEI , there was no record of any last previous backups and in the middle section this is what is read...

"CREATE A NEW BACKUP"



my previous backus and scheduling was gone.

External drive

External Hard Drive

• Open your External Hard Drive file in File Explorer.
• Type the name of the file you want to search on the search box and click Enter.

The file will show up in Search Results and you will be able to move it to the correct folder.

Loss of External drives
