Windows 10: Backlit keyboard light not working after upgrading to windows 10i factory reseted it

Hi! My backlit keyboard is not working on my old laptop but before i updated it into windows 10 it works but when i upgrade it to windows 10 after it doesnt work. My old laptop supports backlit keyboard and this is the Model of my old laptop: Nec Lavie LS150/H. Maybe theres a software that makes my backlit keyboard light working again but its too hard to find those software or drivers because this laptop is too old. Is there any possible?

Asus n551jx notebook backlit keyboard not working after windows 10 upgrade, I had the machine new and used it ok for one day, then I was offered a win 10 upgrade, I accepted and since then my backlit keyboard stopped lighting up, I have tried windows update
in case I lost a driver, and my own Driver Detective, found nothing wrong, is this what happens with a 10 update, if so it sucks ! or have I not got a setting right ?

so earlier on today i got a message saying windows had failed, whatever that means, and now my backlit keyboard isnt.. well glowing. Every other function of the keyboard is fine, its just the lighting.

and I think your first check should be to run that utility so you can see what it has been told to do.

You mentioned messing about with function keys. The F10 key toggles the keyboard backlight so if you find yours is set to off it is probably as a result of the F10 key rather than some fault. This would match the symptoms you have described as well.






Whilst your version may not look exactly the same as mine, Dell have been using QuickSet for keyboard control for decades so it is bound to be the utility controlling yours as well. If your version does not appear to behave itself, I suggest using your Dell Service tag to go to your Dell Drivers & downloads section so you can get another copy of QuickSet for you to install.
- While you are there, check for an updated Bios as well.
