  1. Backlit keyboard not working after reinstalling Win 10

Hi!I own an Asus gaming laptop, the ROG Strix GL503VD and I've recently had some problems with the hybrid drive the laptop came with it got corrupted, so I had to reinstall Windows 10 64-bit on a new, separate SSD I bought myself. All is working great, except my backlit keyboard won't light up at all. Before reinstalling the OS, it was working just fine. I made sure my drivers are all up to date, downloaded directly from the manufacturer's website, my BIOS is the latest version 310 and I don't think this could be some sort of hardware problem, since it's strictly a home laptop and I don't

    backlit keyboard and calculator problem

Thanks to all who have participated.

    zbook,

Step one of your instructions resolved the backlite issue. One driver update was found, and BIOS was updated from v1.3.2 to v1.3.3. Upon reboot the keyboard functions as expected.

    Thanks again.

    regards,

    Backlit Keyboard

Ever since I switched to Windows 10 (from 7) my backlit keyboard no longer works on my Sony Vaio Laptop (VPCSB). The Sony Vaio hard drives were deleted and there is no way to get those back. Is there any way to get the backlit keyboard to work again?

    backlit keyboard and calculator problem

    caffeine,

On my Dell Inspiron 7779, the backlit keyboard setup is controlled by
    Code:
and I think your first check should be to run that utility so you can see what it has been told to do.

You mentioned messing about with function keys. The F10 key toggles the keyboard backlight so if you find yours is set to off it is probably as a result of the F10 key rather than some fault. This would match the symptoms you have described as well.

Whilst your version may not look exactly the same as mine, Dell have been using QuickSet for keyboard control for decades so it is bound to be the utility controlling yours as well. If your version does not appear to behave itself, I suggest using your Dell Service tag to go to your Dell Drivers & downloads section so you can get another copy of QuickSet for you to install.
    - While you are there, check for an updated Bios as well.
