    Step one of your instructions resolved the backlite issue. One driver update was found, and BIOS was updated from v1.3.2 to v1.3.3. Upon reboot the keyboard functions as expected.

    Backlit keyboard problem

    backlit keyboard and calculator problem

    Dell Inspiron 5575
    backlit keyboard
    Windows 10 Home 64-bit

    Keyboard problem:
    My backlit keyboard lights on boot only. When the splash screen launches, the light goes out and will only light up on reboot. The problem first appeared Immediately after I experimented with the F11 and F12 keys to adjust screen brightness. This was two days ago.

    Calculator problem:
    Calculator will not launch. This problem started today. It has persisted through several shut downs and reboots. I am unaware of doing anything to cause this.

    Your thoughts?
