    Backlit Keyboard


    I have an Asus Laptop running W10. For about 6 months, the backlit keyboard feature worked as one would expect. It would turn on as I started to type or touch the touchpad. But now after sitting idle, the backlit feature won't turn on unless I press the f7 key a few times. Then, occasionally, after I press the f7 key, the touchpad will stop working and then I have to go into settings to restart the touchpad. I have read several threads with users complaining of similar issues, but no fix seems to last.

    Step one of your instructions resolved the backlite issue. One driver update was found, and BIOS was updated from v1.3.2 to v1.3.3. Upon reboot the keyboard functions as expected.

    The manual for your HP Pavilion 17-cd0526na just states a ghost white backlit keyboard with numeric keypad, there is no mention of being able to change that backlit keyboard . . .
