Windows 10: backslash key enters automatically in any blank form

    Hi I am using HP Pavillion x360 laptop with windows 10 64 Bit OS. I do regular windows update but since last few days i have noticed that during operating the laptop the backslash key enters automatically and keeps on entering the same value in any blank form i.e. browser window, search pane, excel sheet , . It is difficult to stop that at times but after using back space key , I am able to stop that . This is very frustrating . I have scanned my system with Malware bytes, Kaspersky Internet Security ,windows defender , but I am not able to find

    Windows 10 Cortana backslash in path

    Up until a couple of days ago, I used to be able to type paths into Cortana and press the enter key on the keyboard to open them. Now, as soon as I type a backslash the enter key no longer works, and I can't use the arrow keys to select other items from the list of suggestions -- it's still possible to use the mouse.

    If I type C: everything works as expected. When it becomes C:\ the keyboard selection stops. The keyboard selection also stops when using a UNC path such as \\pc

    I have no idea what I've done. Any suggestions? Currently running Windows 10 (10586.420)

    typing backslash

    Backslash is there on the 8 key, I believe you click & hold ctrl key the 8 key to type backslash.

    How to enter Backslash "\" on E71?

    ctrl key in e71 has backslash '\'. Press ctrl in any application to access it.
