The Microsoft Photos app is a preinstalled UWP (Universal Windows Platform) app in Windows 10. This app lets you view and edit your photos and videos, make movies, and create albums. You can use the video remix feature to instantly create a video from photos and videos you select. You can use the video editor for fine-tuned adjustments change filters, text, camera motion, music, and more. You can even add 3D effects like butterflies, lasers, or explosions that magically appear in your video.

If you use the Photos app, you can manually backup your settings to manually restore as needed to any account on any Windows 10 PC.

This tutorial will show you how to manually backup and restore your settings for the Photos app in Windows 10.

*note The Sources settings for included folders will not be included in the backup.

  2. WINDOWS 10 MICROSOFT PHOTO APP

    Hello,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

The Photos app brings together pictures from all your devices using OneDrive, so that you can browse them by date, album or folder. It also automatically enhances photos, and creates albums for you, to showcase your best shots.

I suggest you to follow the methods below and check if it helps:

    • Go to settings and system.
    • Click on Default Apps and select the appropriately.

    Method 2:

I suggest you to reinstall Photo app using the PowerShell command
and reinstall using the Windows store. Follow the below steps.

    • Open the Start menu, type Windows PowerShell in the search bar.
    • Right click on the Windows PowerShell and select Run as administrator.
    • Enter the below command to uninstall the Photo app.

    • get-appxpackage *Microsoft.Windows.Photos* | remove-appxpackage

Restore Windows Photo Viewer in Windows 10

I downloaded and merged the registry fix as per the instructions and I'm still not getting a listing for Windows Photo Viewer in Settings/Default Apps/Photo Viewer. When I click on this I just get Photos and Paint and Look for an app in the store offered. If I right click a photo and choose open with, there is no windows photo viewer choice. If I go into the old control panel and try to set defaults there, it does list window photo viewer, but states it has all its defaults which seems to be tiff files. In any case, I can't get it to list to
choose it in Settings/Default Apps or on a right click.

How to get rid of raw file support in windows photo viewer?

Backup and Restore Photos app Settings in Windows 10 [IMG]

I have downloaded this, and it did not work; photo viewer is not in the list of programs in Open With or Default App. I used option 2 step 3, followed by step 5 to 9.

Restoring Windows 10 Image using Macrium Reflect

In addition to the above. Here's my suggestion in step by step.
I assume you have Macrium Installed in your current HD and already made a backup copy.
    1. Connect your new HD via USB port and boot up.
    2. Run Macrium, click on Restore tab then select the Backup Image that you made to restore
    3. click on "select a different target disk" then select your new HD as destination

    5. Boot up with your new HD.
