Windows 10: Backup and Restore Windows Mail email accounts - Reformatting PC and getting a secondary...

I've made a lot of changes recently; upgrading my gaming desktop with new hardware and trying several laptops to find the perfect companion computer to my desktop. One thing that has been rather annoying is having to sign into all my email accounts over and over again each time I try a computer. And now that I have a desire to do a clean install of Windows for my desktop, I really don't wanna sign into everything again.


Is there a way that I can backup my mail accounts and wipe everything else and then restore just my mail accounts and settings on the new system?

Is it possible to set up more than one email account when using Windows Mail? I hate Thunderbird because I could never get more than one email account set up and be able to send mail from both accounts. The outgoing servers kept on getting mixed up.

Secondary email account not opening

Might I suggest you open a free Gmail account and use that as an alternate. Then you can always sign into gmail with any browser and get email.

Outlook and Microsoft accounts can also be set up to text you a code so they know its you. Very quick and easy. You say you forget, they send code, you enter and log in.

If you make these changes in Microsoft account and can't verify yourself, due to lack of access to secondary account, MS will nag you each day you log in telling you that your security info has changed. This goes on for thirty days to ensure the real owner will see that the security info has been requested to changed.

To short circuit the thirty days phone your telco and ask how to sign into your mail account with a browser. Then open and deal with verification email.

Thanks MailMan78. Just did what BarbaricSoul said but I am still receiving spam from my own account, don't know what to do. I have contacted yahoo about issue and to restore my emails. Also now yahoo offers "Step two verification"
