Windows 10: Backup and Retore Software BUT not from the Company Tungsten/Kofax

Hello to the Brains trust. I first searched this question but after some time could not find the answer that I was after. Quite simply, I am wondering if Windows 11 or if not some other effective but less expensive software will allow me to completely backup my notebook to and SSD external hard drive such that when I restore it, it will install all of the applications in the form that I do not need to go and reinstall them and try and find all the serial numbers. I recently needed to set up a new computer because the other one died. With the ridiculous amount of selling and buying of sof

Software to backup windows

I suggest Aomei Backupper. It is very simple to use. The free ( standard version) will be fine.

Under the backup Tab, click System backup, then at Step 2 , browse to the location you want to save the backup image. Then click "Start Backup"

Palm Pilot Tungsten E & Windows 10

This issue could be due to the Palm Tungsten is not compatible with Windows 10. You can check it on below link provided.

However, let’s try some troubleshooting steps and let us know the status. I would recommend you to download the latest updated Palm Tungsten driver from the manufacturer website and install it in compatibility mode and check if it helps resolving the
issue. Follow the below steps:

• 
  Right-click on the setup file of the driver and select Properties.
  
• 
  Select Compatibility tab.
  
• 
  Check Run this program in Compatibility mode.
  
• 
  Let the driver install and then check the functionality.
  

Note: Make sure you download the updated Palm Tungsten driver.

Using network hard drive for backup

It depends what sort of backup you want to do. If you're happy just backing up regular files, then there are a bazillion (really, that many!) different bits of freeware to do that. There is a good list here:

and pretty much all of them can do network backups. Some even have fancy options like encryption. Really, the most useful thing is just being able to schedule them and know they ran OK.

You may also want to make a system image backup too, and you'll find that software in the very same list.

I don't have Windows 8 as yet, so I'm afraid I can't suggest any for that platform. Personally, I use Clonezilla for image backups.
