    Backup existing computer entire image to external Hard Drive which can be made bootable...


    I'm looking for a solution that will backup my current hard drive in its entirety and allow me to create an entire bootable external hard drive of this if/when my current hard drive fails.

    Is this possible? If so, can someone please list the steps necessary to do this and other 3rd party software required.

    Is an Image Backup Drive bootable?

    I have a new Win10 desktop with two internal hard drives. I am intending to create an Image Backup on the 2nd drive.

    If my primary drive suffers a casastrophic mechanical failure which renders it inoperable, is the image backup drive bootable?

    If not, can it be made bootable?

    Free hard drive backup/restore program?

    I am looking for a free (freeware) program that will back up and restore a hard drive. I'm looking to clone a few external hard drives. If the program will backup the used space instead of the whole drive this will be awesome! Thanks for any suggestions.

    Is an Image Backup Drive bootable?

    The integrated backup utility does not make an external drive bootable. It is only a backup not a recovery drive.
