Windows 10: Bad Graphics Performance in Windows 10 using a AMD APU.

A few days ago, I acquired a computer that cost me around £600. It had 8GB of ram and a APU with AMD`s Ryzen 5 being the processor and The Radeon Vegas 8 as the graphics card. I had installed a few games that I had brought on Steam whether it was sales or games that I wanted to play.


I tried "Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Legend" first. It went as well as I wanted it to be for a 2006 game... Until I turned on "Next Generation Content", within seconds the buttery smooth gameplay quickly turned into a slow nightmare. Randomly I couldn`t have Steams FPS Counter pop up on the screen but I reckoned that the gameplay quickly went from 60 to 30 or probably less FPS.


Next, I tried ID`s "Rage". I was a newcomer at the game, the menus were at 60FPS which I thought was a good sign... it ran at 1080P like trash. It dipped from 60 to 30 and even 10FPS. I tried its benchmark feature (Pause the game, go into video and find the benchmark button) and it gave me a score of 50 out of 100 which l was surprised because the menus gave me a score of over 90.


But the game that was the most depressing to run on my computer was "Goat Simulator". It immediately went to 10FPS when everything was lowered down. But when I actually played the game, I was surprised how bad the world looked from a graphics card made by one of the best graphics card makers.


I looked at the Graphics card ram and it was 256MB, MBs! I looked up the APU and this graphics card was listed on being in computers as high as £1200!

I tried tinkering with the included "Radeon Settings" app and it made no difference.


I am just wondering if its the fault of the software or the fault of the computer, or its my fault for not setting the graphics card right.


If you can send me a suggestion on how to fix my graphics card, that would be greatly appreciated.

windows 10 is not detecting my APU AMD A10-9700 graphic card

Hello,

I've an asrock mother board (ab350 itx/Ac) and an AMD APU (a10-9700E)

and no way to detect my graphic card as a Radeon R7, it's still named "basic windows card" in the device list.

I tried several versions of the AMD drivers for APU A series with no success

everytime I re-install everything I use a soft to clean everything.

Is there something I miss in the BIOS or anywhere ?

AMD Radeon R7 graphics inbuilt on AMD A10-7850K Series APU

Not sure if this is a Windows problem or an AMD problem or a problem with my system. I'm asking the same question over at the AMD Community

I have a newly installed AMD A88XM-A motherboard with an AMD A10-7850K Radeon R7 processor. The latest AMD catalyst drivers (15.20.1062.1004-150803a1-187668C) were all installed over the last few days along with a new install of Windows 7 plus all available
updates.

The Windows 10 update checker on my PC says that I cannot upgrade to Windows 10 because the AMD Radeon R7 graphics chip is not compatible. It says the display manufacturer has not made the display compatible. I cannot reserve my Windows 10 upgrade.

However, the list at https://community.amd.com/docs/DOC-1313 lists the A10-7000 Series APUs as systems that are compatible with Windows 10.

So, to repeat my question: is this a problem with the Windows upgrade checker, with AMDs list of compatible hardware, or with something on my system?

every time i boot my pc i have to start the graphics software manually for the display to reflect the softwares custom settings. i changed the gamma some time ago and and want that setting to remain changed.
